Texas Association of Business CCUS Economic Impact Study: The economic effects of CCUS projects in Texas

AngelouEconomics (AE) will be engaged by the Texas Association of Business to develop a series of economic impacts analyzing subsurface carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) projects. Included will be analyses regarding construction, permanent jobs, operations, and stakeholder benefits. These efforts represent the first of two phases. The second includes project advocacy, which includes building consensus and support for the projects with local government officials, landowners, and the strategic use of highly regarded and respected economists from major academic and private Texas institutions. AE measures the cumulative impact of CCUS projects at the county level. In total, 12 counties will be evaluated. Four unique CCUS scenarios will be modeled in each county. The following report captures the full effect of those scenarios on the local economies.
